ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Registered Nurse Program Manager Supervisor demonstrates leadership skills and participates in specific program experiences. Accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the program and the staff who support it. Demonstrate creative approaches to the management of program aspects of complex patient care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Registered Nurse Program Manager Supervisor, serving as the Deputy Chief of Quality Management in the Quality Management Service, provides supervision and guidance to program staff. This role incorporates innovative approaches for managing complex patient care and demonstrates developing leadership skills that positively influence care standards and staff safety across all patients and departments. The Deputy Chief is responsible for leading a facility-wide quality management program, ensuring compliance with National Directives for all services within the organization. Duties include but not limited to: Leads the provision of nursing care to patients with complex care needs utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Completes orientation according to expected standards. Applies clinical knowledge/judgment to lead staff involvement in planning, decision making, and evaluating outcomes within the immediate practice setting Effectively functions as a leader, with demonstrated outcomes, for the immediate practice setting Improves Veteran/patient driven care by resolving experience issues such as coordination of care, timeliness or process issues, common themes of dissatisfaction, or environment of care concerns for the immediate practice setting. Serves as a resource for patients, caregivers, and staff to address and resolve ethical issues in the immediate practice setting. Works with close supervision, is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and seeks direction from others as needed. Manages workload as assigned, organizes, and completes own assignments in an efficient and appropriate manner. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary care. Establishes a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to attain, maintain or regain optimal function through assessment and treatment. Engages patients, families, and other caregivers to incorporate knowledge, values, and beliefs into care planning without judgement or discrimination. Demonstrates positive, effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers. Leads the implementation of high reliability principles and I CARE values to increase consistency of care delivered and improve patient outcomes. Participates in unit based educational activities and continuing education requirements. Responsible for maintaining competency to continue personal and professional growth. Demonstrates performance and beginning leadership skills that start to impact the standard of care and safety of staff while caring for all patients throughout the continuum of care. Oversee the provision of staff education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement consultation related to the program specifically. Continuously evaluates the program, collecting and submitting facility performance measures. Participates in quality improvement activities for nursing. Performs other duties as assigned.
