<p>The Clinical Nurse Educator delivers a fundamental understanding of adult learning principles and a lifelong learner that can practice with flexibility and adapt or change learning strategies based on the assessment of learning needs within the healthcare organizarion.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Careers at Montana VA Health Care System Fort Harrison Chamber of Commerce Helena Chamber of Commerce The PACT Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising staff education. Duties of the position are, but not limited to: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational needs to facilitate each learner development and skill training of clinical staff. Utilize innovative teaching strategies, assessment skills, and evaluation of outcomes. Assume responsibility for the coordination of education; focus on staff education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the healthcare continuum. Knowledge and active participation in the department level quality improvement process and initiatives, as well as customer service programs. Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Provide competent, evidence-based education to staff. Provide educational instruction and training for nursing staff in clinical and outpatient units. Knowledge and understanding of instructional design, implementation and application related to education and training. Complete learning needs assessments and develop educational training programs for clinical staff. Assist with the orientation of new employees, evaluate Their progress, and development and implementation of learning plan for improved identified deficiencies. Serve as trainer and consultant for Resuscitation Education Initiative (Redi) Program, Including certification as Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor. Monitors and tracks BLS/Advanced Life Support (ALS) Compliance within the organization. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support and evaluate responses to emergency situations within the facility, to include BLS and ALS. Organize, participate, and evaluate mock codes. Partner with residency program including the development of curriculum utilizing strategic learning methodologies such as simulation, lecture case studies, and virtual reality. Develop proficient level coaching and mentoring skills. Systematically evaluate current practice, formulate outcomes for groups of patients and organizational processes within the area of expertise. Collaborate with other clinical nurse educators and interprofessional healthcare teams and the ongoing clinical education activities including in services, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of both current and new staff nursing skills. Review current nursing literature for new trends and changes based on evidence-based research with the ability to propose practice and documentation revisions based on evaluation of outcomes. Collaborate with leadership and unit managers to identify educational training needs for staff, while supporting activities that foster competence, critical thinking, and decision making. Provide consultation and collaboration through their participation within the organizational committees. Analyze, interpret, and evaluate data to determine outcomes and changes related to educational programs. Other duties as assigned. Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
