Registered Nurse (Oncology)

<p>The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurses. The Registered Nurses will function in the Oncology/Infusion Clinic within Ambulatory Care Service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties of the Registered Nurse (Oncology) include but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive nursing care to Veterans receiving infusion therapies, including biologic agents, blood products, IV medications, hydration, and other outpatient infusion treatments in accordance with provider orders, policies, and evidence-based practice. Performs patient assessment, venous access management, medication administration, and continuous monitoring for adverse reactions or changes in condition, initiating appropriate interventions and emergency response measures when indicated. Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members including providers, pharmacists, schedulers, and ancillary services to ensure safe, timely, and efficient outpatient infusion treatment and continuity of care. Educates Veterans and caregivers regarding infusion therapies, medications, side effects, self-management strategies, follow-up care, and emergency precautions while promoting Veteran-centered care and shared decision-making. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, ensures compliance with VA policies, infection prevention standards, medication safety practices, and participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the ambulatory infusion clinic.
