<p>The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurses. The Registered Nurses will function in the Oncology/Infusion Clinic within Ambulatory Care Service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties of the Registered Nurse (Oncology) include but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive nursing care to Veterans receiving infusion therapies, including biologic agents, blood products, IV medications, hydration, and other outpatient infusion treatments in accordance with provider orders, policies, and evidence-based practice. Performs patient assessment, venous access management, medication administration, and continuous monitoring for adverse reactions or changes in condition, initiating appropriate interventions and emergency response measures when indicated. Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members including providers, pharmacists, schedulers, and ancillary services to ensure safe, timely, and efficient outpatient infusion treatment and continuity of care. Educates Veterans and caregivers regarding infusion therapies, medications, side effects, self-management strategies, follow-up care, and emergency precautions while promoting Veteran-centered care and shared decision-making. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, ensures compliance with VA policies, infection prevention standards, medication safety practices, and participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the ambulatory infusion clinic. Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Subject to background/security investigation. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
