Registered Nurse - Nursing Officer of the Day

<p>The Registered Nurse - Nursing Officer of the Day (NOD) Registered Nurse RN directs position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to the management of complex patient care. The incumbent will work at our Loch Raven Facility at the VA Maryland Health Care System and will serve as a facility-wide nursing leader and ensures quality care and regulatory compliance. ***Position is Located at The Loch Raven Facility.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Functions to deliver and coordinate safe, efficient, and effective patient care throughout all areas of the facility. Provides care and directs others in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process which includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems. Executes medical regimens including administering medications and treatments prescribed by a licensed or otherwise authorized provider. The nurse's primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual, family, group, or community and the facility. Manages Hours Per Patient Day and resource allocation. Staffs units as appropriate, and serves as a resource for the department of Nursing.
