<p>At the St. Cloud VA Health Care System, our Nurse Informaticists enhance care by uniting clinical practice with technology. This role supports safe, effective Veteran care through education, workflow optimization, and informatics leadership-helping teams deliver consistent, high-quality care across the organization.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest. As an employee operating in a Whole Health System of care, you will operate in a model with three core elements, seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran. This is done in the context of healing relationships and healing environments and a connection back to the Veteran's community. This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being. As a Nurse Informaticist - Training Coordinator, you will help shape how clinicians interact with technology to improve Veteran outcomes. You will collaborate across services, support evidence-based practice, streamline workflows, and guide staff through training, system adoption, and continuous improvement. Your work will strengthen clinical effectiveness, data integrity, and the Veteran care experience. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Participating in activities related to planning, developing, and implementing informatics. Collaborating with the Health Informatics department to support the mission and vision of the St. Cloud VA. Assisting with implementing and integrating evidence-based practice, clinical practice models, and health practice patterns. Evaluating, designing, and supporting activities related to clinical information systems and information technology. Resolving issues and employing informatics functions such as workflow optimization, training, education, and content management. Improving care delivery and outcomes through development, monitoring, and maintenance of clinical decision support and practice patterns. Providing expert knowledge across informatics domains and supporting clinical staff with consultation and guidance. Facilitating educational activities related to clinical software applications and supporting organizational change through communication and training. Participating in team and committee activities at the local, regional, or national level to advance clinical informatics. Performing training coordinator functions such as coordinating training, maintaining records, developing materials, conducting sessions, and providing at-the-elbow support. Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Subject to background/security investigation. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
