The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Full-Time Registered Nurse-Nurse Educator. The Registered Nurse serves in Nursing Education Service, providing staff development through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational needs.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this occupational series. The Registered Nurse-Nurse Educator duties include but are not limited: Provide educational instruction and training for nursing staff in clinical and outpatient units. Apply instructional design principles to develop, implement, and evaluate education and training programs. Conduct learning needs assessments and create targeted educational trainings for clinical staff. Assist with new employee orientation, evaluate progress, and develop learning plans to address performance gaps. Support nurse residency programs through curriculum development using simulation, lectures, case studies, and virtual reality. Evaluate current clinical practices and develop outcomes for patient groups or organizational processes within area of expertise. Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Educators and interprofessional teams on in-services, training, competency assessments, and skill evaluations for new and existing staff. Review current nursing literature to identify evidence-based trends and propose practice or documentation updates based on outcomes. Partner with leadership and unit managers to identify staff education needs and support initiatives that foster competence, critical thinking, and decision-making. Analyze, interpret, and evaluate data to determine outcomes and recommend improvements for educational programs.
