ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Milwaukee VAMC is looking for a Nurse Educator for Sterile Processing Services (SPS). The Nurse Educator is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based education to staff in the area of SPS.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>This is not a remote position Provide educational instruction and training for clinical and technical staff in SPS, clinical, and outpatient units. Understand instructional design, implementation, and application related to education and training. Perform learning needs assessments, develop educational trainings for clinical and technical staff within organization. Assist with the orientation of new employees, evaluation of their progress in the orientation process, and development and implementation of a learning plan for improving identified deficiencies. Develop proficient coaching and mentoring skills. Systematically evaluate current practices, formulate outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes within area of expertise. Collaborate with leadership and unit managers to identify educational training needs for staff, while supporting activities that foster competence, critical thinking, and decision making. Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate data to determine outcomes and changes related to educational programs. Must obtain Level 2 Sterile Processing Certification within one year (typically achieved through 400 hours of direct reprocessing experience). NOTE: This position requires flexibility in schedule and assignments. A current, valid driver's license is required for this position.
