<p>The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager in supervising 24/7 unit operations, ensuring responsible care delivery, staff development, and performance evaluation. They lead by example, promote evidence-based practices, and foster ethical decision-making. The ANM collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, participates in care model development, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes an inclusive, high-quality care environment aligned with organizational goals.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Major duties include but are not limited to: Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of the nursing process and is responsible for all elements when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care tailored to age-specific needs to ensure optimal outcomes. Coordinates patient education, self-management strategies, and customer satisfaction initiatives throughout the care continuum. Collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary team members to influence positive care outcomes and improve care delivery processes. Supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing 24/7 unit operations, providing supervisory coverage and leadership as needed. Assists in the orientation, training, and ongoing development of staff, providing input on performance evaluations. Serves as a role model, educator, and leader-modeling best practices and fostering a culture of accountability and high-quality care. Participates in process improvement initiatives, incorporating evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes. Seeks ongoing professional knowledge from reputable organizations to support leadership growth and clinical excellence. Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, promoting accountability at all organizational levels. Promotes culturally competent care by equipping staff with the tools necessary to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design aimed at ensuring accessible, affordable, and equitable care. Ensures compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards, policies, and SOPs. Aligns nursing practices and unit objectives with organizational strategic goals through active participation in planning and strategy implementation. Fosters an inclusive, diverse workplace environment that values teamwork, engagement, and emotional intelligence to support organizational mission and vision. Other duties as assigned. PCS Appraised Value Offer (AVO): Not Authorized.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
