<p>The Medical Specialty Clinic Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (http://www.milwaukee.va.gov/). The function of the Medical Subspecialty Registered Nurse is to provide, direct and supervise the delivery of quality nursing care to a diverse veteran population of varying complexity in the Outpatient setting.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Medical Specialty clinic Outpatient Staff RN is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. The RN assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. This position will help primarily support the Allergy and Infectious Disease Clinics, but will also be expected to support the other services in 1AN clinic, including Quick Draw. Duties include, but are not limited to: Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcome by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Knowledge and actively participates in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Broad based clinical knowledge enabling the RN to effectively implement health promotion and prevention interventions, manage acute and chronic illness states assist veterans in the attainment of optimal levels of functioning.
