<p>This Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology Lab position is located at the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. Please learn more about the position below, along with the duties.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>PLEASE NOTE, this position is only open to current permanent Richmond, Virginia Veterans Affairs Medical Center employees. Applicants must submit a copy of their most recent SF-50. Applicants that do not meet these requirements, will be rated ineligible. Interventional Radiology Lab RNs provide comprehensive nursing care to include circulating, patient monitoring, and operating equipment that may be used during interventional radiology, CT, ultrasound, and MRI procedures. Interventional Radiology Lab RNs monitor patients during radiology procedures and demonstrates expertise in reading ECGs, identifying arrhythmias, hemodynamic monitoring, patient positioning, obtaining pressures, and administration of medications per procedure protocol and physician orders. Interventional Radiology Lab RNs Staff the three bay Radiology Prep/Recovery area preparing, recovering and educating patients and family members. Interventional Radiology Lab RNs order and manage all supplies used in the area. Two IR Lab RNs are on-call for all off tours including weekends and holidays for any emergent cases. Must be able to wear lead and be in standing positions for extended periods of time. Duties include, but are not limited to: -Responsible for 100% compliance with patient safety standards including two patient identifiers and adherence to the "Invasive Procedure Time-out Checklist" -Collaborate with Physicians of Radiology Service as well as all consulting services and support services -Administration & Monitoring of Medications -Cardiac/Telemetry Monitoring is part of this position -Advanced Vascular Access Care and Maintenance -(BLS/ACLS) certification is required for this position -Facilitation of Homecare referrals and recommendations to support ongoing veteran needs -Demonstrates professional communication and conduct -Recognizes and supports Suicide Prevention initiatives VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: 8-9 hour shifts, 1 8-hour shift, and a rotating day off every 2-week pay period. Call is required approximately 1 week per month including rotating holiday and weekend call. Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
