ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System in Charleston, South Carolina is seeking an Interventional Radiology Coordinator Registered Nurse to join Nursing Perioperative. This position coordinates patient care for interventional radiology procedures by providing assessments, education, procedural preparation, and care coordination while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Major Duties: Assesss, plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. Coordinates patient care throughout the procedural process, including pre-procedure preparation and discharge planning. Provides patient and family education regarding procedures, preparation, transportation, and post-procedure care. Coordinates anesthesia evaluations and validates required pre-procedure testing. Collaborates with radiologists, anesthesia providers, specialty clinics, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient readiness for procedures. Assists with scheduling coordination, transportation, lodging arrangements, and identifying barriers to patient care. Serves as a patient advocate by responding to patient inquiries and resolving concerns. Maintains clinic performance metrics and participates in quality improvement activities. Ensures compliance with established policies, guidelines, and customer service standards while promoting safe, high-quality patient care.
