ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Interventional Pain Registered Nurse functions as a care coordinator and facilitates clinic procedures while promoting the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System philosophy and mission statements in providing nursing care. The Registered Nurse will use the nursing process to integrate the standards of nursing practice and standards of care for quality health care delivery as well as use evidence-based approaches to pain management and overdose prevention for Veteran's with chronic pain.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>https://youtu.be/LM35k1p_3Tc?si=6wdZw0Lag331XBMR Major Duties: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Act as nurse care coordinator for all enrolled patients with the Interventional Pain outpatient specialty service. Assist providers with patient assessments, procedures, triage telephone calls, patient/familty education, coordinate and assist in outpatient clinics, and document in the clinical record (CPRS). Assist the Pain service Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Service Chief and other leaders as assigned with service management issues as needed. Advocate for a Whole Health model of care and treatment of patients with pain and provide leadership to clinical support staff in advocating for patients care and rights beyond immediate care needs. Ensure effective cross-coverage of nursing services throughout the pain service.
