Registered Nurse (Inpatient)

<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>This Registered Nurse is located in the Inpatient Med/Surg unit at the VA Providence Medical Center. This position is a full-time position with every other holiday and weekends. Duties include but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive, safe and effective nursing care to patients admitted to inpatient medical-surgical levels of care. Documents initial/ongoing patient assessment and plan of care. Makes quick and accurate assessments in the care of acute and chronically ill patients. Identifies and manages life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients. Has knowledge of normal and abnormal findings and reports findings. Has knowledge of telemetry, hemodynamics, phlebotomy, basic IV and central line skills. Educates and/or monitors the patients regarding procedures, treatments, and discharge information. Attends code blues and rapid responses as needed.
