<p>The San Francisco VA Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Outpatient Specialty Care and Infectious Disease Clinic.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Major duties include but not limited to: Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Practices as a registered nurse within the Specialty Outpatient Clinics. These clinics include but are not limited to Orthopedics, General/Thoracic/Vascular Surgery, Hematology/Oncology, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Ear Nose & Throat, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Urology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Dermatology & Podiatry. Clinical responsibilities, which may include the proper intake and exit of the veteran at clinic visit, meeting of educational and psychosocial assessment and needs, procedural assisting and appropriate triaging of telephone calls, walk-ins and unstable veterans. May be assigned responsibilities as preceptor, team leader or charge nurse. Other duties as assigned.
