<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The incumbent is responsible for the following: Coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and support factors that impact customer satisfaction. Consideration of all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. Administer medications and procedures per established polices and guidelines. Collaborate with all members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in unit level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Independently plan and deliver technically competent care to patients with complex needs. Provide leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues impacting patients and staff. Delegate care in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner. Maintain current knowledge of multidisciplinary resources, programs and services. Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patient information, including electronic, print and conversations. Actively participate in polices, procedures and standards to promote evidence-based patient-driven care. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Complete all application requirements detailed in the "Required Documents" section of this announcement.<h3>Education</h3>The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). If your school was accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation, but is no longer listed on the websites, you must provide documentation of accreditation with your application packet.
