ABOUT THIS ROLE

<p>The Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. S/he will assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. S/he will administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>https://youtu.be/LM35k1p_3Tc?si=OYdVLJgrv6Jbwh7l Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assess the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in their homes. Perform vital signs including pain assessment. Computer documentation. Perform and documenting evaluations. Outpatient venipunctures and assuring accuracy when delivering blood to the laboratories. Perform medication reconciliation and assuring the accurate tilling of medication dispensers in the home. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Subject to background/security investigation. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
