<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Registered Nurse (Community Living Center) is within the Nursing (Geriatrics and Extended Care) service at the Boston VA Healthcare System located in Brockton, MA. It is permanent and full-time at 40 hours per week. The Community Living Center (CLC) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care; Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines; Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team; Participates in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs; Determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care; Formulates a plan of care based on nursing assessments; Engages patients, families, and other caregivers to incorporate knowledge, values, and beliefs into care planning without judgement or discrimination; Delivers consistent care and improve patient outcomes; Demonstrates positive, effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers; and Performs other duties as assigned. In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). If your school has changed names, or is no longer in existence, you must provide this information in your application.- If your school was accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation, but is no longer listed on the websites, you must provide documentation of accreditation with your application packet.
