ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The incumbent serves as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center and is responsible for providing timely, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing care. Core duties include assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of care in alignment with established standards. Higher-level incumbents offer clinical leadership and support the management of complex clinical demands.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties include but are not limited to: Provides urgent and emergent care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions Assess the patient by collecting pertinent data or information, including the triage of patients based on the five-level triage system to prioritize patients that require more immediate care. Use assessment data to determine diagnosis, problems, or other concerns and identify expected outcomes to develop a collaborative and individualized plan for each patient. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Provide nursing care ranging from basic nursing care to stabilization, resuscitation, and life-support measures.
