Registered Nurse - Dialysis

<p>The Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) provides fundamental, knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates age-specific care, coordinating patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction across the continuum of care. The RN administers medications and procedures per established policies and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to improve patient care outcomes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties: Provides and directs care for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), and late-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) with beginner-level skills. Collaborates with other disciplines and departments to achieve desired patient outcomes. Functions as the primary nurse for the ESRD patient panel and serves as a key resource, assisting patients in navigating the healthcare system. Completes documentation for all clinical and technical recordkeeping in the electronic health record and treatment flowsheets in accordance with established policies and procedures. Monitors, tracks, trends, and reports ongoing care continuity needs and outcomes to the interdisciplinary team. Focuses on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. Seeks guidance on how to improve care provided to patients and families. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based on assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient. Applies nursing principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills. Additional duties as assigned.
