<p>This position is eligible for the following (for full information please see below): Recruitment/relocation incentive Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) - Work 72 hours, get paid for 80 hours Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP)</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Critical Care Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides direct care for acutely/critically ill patients who are at high risk for actual or potential life-threatening health problems. Provides high intensity care and vigilance, while refining assessment skills and blending in data obtained from a variety of invasive/noninvasive monitoring technology. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Applies clinical knowledge/judgment to lead staff involvement in planning, decision making, and evaluating outcomes within the immediate practice setting. Leads professional practice using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to improve evidence-based and/or data-driven outcomes for an identified patient population and/or specialized areas within immediate practice setting Preferred Experience: ICU, Step-down and/or PACU experience VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and paid Federal holidays (based upon work schedule) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Full-time. Work is scheduled Sunday-Saturday. You will be primarily scheduled to work during the night (7:30pm to 8:00am). Rotating weekends and holidays are required. 72/80 Schedule Eligibility: May be authorized after successful completion of unit orientation (40 hours per week required until successful completion of orientation).; Adherence to hospital policy and procedures, including leave policy required to qualify for 72/80. 12-hour tours required with 72/80 schedules.
