<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Join VA BHHCS Fort Meade as a Community Living Center Registered Nurse, where your care directly supports Veterans in a long-term care setting. You will deliver individualized nursing care, administer medications and treatments, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and help residents maintain safety, independence, and quality of life.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Community Living Center Registered Nurse plays a meaningful role in advancing VA's mission to serve Veterans with dignity, skill, and compassion. This position offers the opportunity to build therapeutic relationships with residents and families, contribute to interdisciplinary care planning, and support a safe, healing environment where Veterans can maintain function, independence, and quality of life. As part of a collaborative care team, the RN helps improve outcomes through evidence-based practice, resident education, thoughtful coordination, and a strong commitment to continuous professional growth. Duties include, but are not limited to: - Deliver individualized nursing care to Community Living Center residents through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care needs. - Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with established policies, clinical guidelines, and resident care plans. - Coordinate care across the continuum by promoting resident education, self-management, safety, satisfaction, and family involvement. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate care that supports resident goals and improves outcomes. - Establish therapeutic relationships with residents, families, and caregivers to incorporate individual preferences, values, and needs into care planning. - Apply evidence-based nursing practice, current literature, and quality improvement activities to support safe, effective, and cost-conscious care. - Serve as a clinical resource in addressing complex resident needs and coordinating seamless support with other services. - Conduct clinical and environmental rounds to assess care delivery, identify improvement opportunities, and promote a safe therapeutic environment in the Community Living Center. This includes a mix of: 12-hour shifts (6 shifts) 8-hour shifts (1 shifts) - Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM - Night Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
