<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Duties of the Registered Nurse - Community Living Center (CLC) include, but are not limited to: Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care to assigned CLC residents, overseeing LPNs and NAs as appropriate. Support nursing education, orientation, competency validation, and quality-improvement initiatives. Partner with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective care transitions. Apply biopsychosocial concepts, cognitive skills, and technical proficiency in daily nursing practice. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate nursing care. Coordinate resident care with emphasis on education, self-management, and overall satisfaction. Administer medications and perform clinical procedures in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to influence and improve care outcomes. Consult with MDS nurses to ensure accuracy of RUG scoring when needed. Utilize fundamental critical-thinking skills, seeking guidance appropriately to support high-quality patient care.
