<p>The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLAHCS), West Los Angeles facility, is seeking (3) Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Laboratory Registered Nurses for an Intermittent Appointment. Intermittent staff do not have a regular recuring schedule. Work schedules may vary week to week depending on the needs of the service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratory. Coordinate patient care across the continuum, ensuring safe transitions, comprehensive education, and effective discharge planning. Perform thorough pre-procedure assessments including physical, mental, and readiness evaluations. Deliver detailed patient and family education regarding procedures, expectations, and pre/post-procedure care requirements. Assist physicians during invasive cardiology procedures, ensuring safe, efficient, and evidence-based practice. Manage post-procedural recovery, monitoring patient status, responding to clinical changes, and documenting all assessments and interventions. Recognize emergent patient care situations and initiate appropriate emergency responses promptly. Maintain proficiency in setup, cleaning, operation, and maintenance of cardiology-specific equipment and assist with planning for equipment replacement needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support Veteran-centered care and individualized goals of care. Contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines. Evaluate outcomes of evidence-based practice changes and contribute to program or service-level quality improvements. Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to peers and learners, fostering a supportive clinical learning environment. Adapt daily workflow and procedural schedules to maximize efficiency within the laboratory. Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
