<p>Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties include but are not limited to: The Nurse Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units. They provide coverage for other ANMs or clinical care, as needed. The ANM is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, and staff development; has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, and development of staff; and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance. Functions as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor, providing leadership to the team. Enhances care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. The ANM engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. Equips staff with tools for competent care and promotes an environment of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. Promotes alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence. The ANM contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing and clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Promotes a positive workplace to achieve the organization's vision and mission. Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP). 30 Day Hiring Model The Department of Veterans Affairs is implementing a streamlined 30-Day Hiring Model designed to accelerate hiring while maintaining the highest standards of merit-based selection. Onboarding tasks may continue after starting, with HR ensuring timely completion for a smooth transition into VA service. Work Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, or depending on facility needs.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
