<p>The Miami VA Healthcare System's Acute Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse-Assistant Nurse Manager. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Assistant Nurse Manager demonstrates specialized knowledge and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. The incumbent assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self mgmt., and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Duties include but are not limited to: Supports the Nurse Manager and Nurse on Duty with supervisory duties, responsibility, and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units. Provide coverage for other ANMs as needed. Responsible for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance. Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. Enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs)</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Subject to background/security investigation. Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process. Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents). Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
