ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>Assistant Nurse Manager, RN, of Primary Care Clinics front line supervisor will support our Primary Care clinics in an outpatient setting and reports to the Nurse Manager. The incumbent collaborates with Chief Medical Officer, Administrative Officer, and Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations to ensure the best quality patient care is provided.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties include but not limited to: Assist in staff interviews and the hiring process Completes staff evaluations/proficiencies Coordinates personnel in the designated clinic to ensure quality patient-centered care are met in accordance with administrative and clinical policies Educates staff on a variety of standard medical equipment to perform medical procedures and/or patient examinations Identifies clinical issues and training needs of staff and coordinates educational activities in conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Educator Ensures Peer Reviews or Chart audits are completed on all Nursing Staff as required Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Educator in orientation of newly hired nursing staff; Monitor new staff orientation progress and initiate efforts to improve orientation program and meet weekly with the newly hired nurse and preceptor Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and professional growth Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels Equips staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes Cultivates alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, educating staff on survey readiness Assists team with aligning nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP) Role model, educator, mentor, and supervisor providing leadership to the team Remove barriers and influence care outcomes by collaborating with interprofessional teams Implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes; incorporating Lean Six Sigma projects to improve outcomes Serves as the Nurse Manager during the absence of the Nurse Manager Perform other duties as assigned Collaborates with LR/HR and provide counseling and instruction to staff on work matters Resolve complaints Promote high reliable organization (HRO) with safety and quality of the Veteran Monitors metrics related to scope and develops initiatives to improve metrics across the system leading to sustained improvements/change Leading initiatives that demonstrate evidence-based practice projects to improve population health, chronic disease management, and Veteran outcomes Manage timekeeping Cover PACT RN duties as assigned VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Monday- Friday- 0800-1630 or 0830-1700 Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
