ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM - MHRRTP) functions as a clinical expert responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process. Incumbent assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components and assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. S/he is accountable to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS)..</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) provides supervisory and clinical leadership for the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP). The ANM supports the Nurse Manager with oversight of 24/7 operations, staff development, workflow coordination, and compliance with all regulatory and VA directives. The ANM serves as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor, advancing high-quality, trauma-informed, Veteran-centered care. This role plays a key part in fostering accountability, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and driving evidence-based improvements across the residential continuum of care. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing direct supervision, scheduling oversight, mentoring, and performance feedback for assigned nursing staff Maintaining responsibility and accountability for daily clinical operations, including staffing patterns, patient flow, and care coordination across all shifts Serving as clinical resource and role model in mental health recovery practices, trauma-informed care, and culturally competent care Ensuring compliance with accreditation bodies, VHA Directives, policies, and MHRRTP SOPs Supporting onboarding, staff education, and professional development initiatives Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to reduce care barriers and implementing innovative, evidence-based programming Contributing to environmental design and delivery models that promote equitable, accessible, and high-quality residential care Providing direct patient care when needed due to staffing shortages Promoting a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and ethical leadership at all organizational levels, etc. Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: TBD (Rotating Shifts; may include working evenings, nights, weekends and federal holidays) Appointment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Location: Villa Serena - Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP) Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
