<p>The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and accountability for the 24/7 operations of their designated units at the Lake City VA Medical Center. An ANM vacancy exists for an experienced RN interested in working in a leadership role.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered professional nurse responsible for assessment, planning, provision, and evaluation of nursing services in specified area(s). Functions or scope of assigned duties include, but are not limited to: Leads interdisciplinary problem solving at the area and /or program level. Mentors less experienced nurses, other RNs in expanded roles, and/or students. Ensures that, within the scope of duties, confidential information is at all times safeguarded. Participates in the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP). Seeks knowledge from professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Equips staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. Directs and organizes patient flow in the assigned area. Maintains unit schedule. Grants leave for staff. Coordinates the provision of care. Assists staff to fulfill performance expectations.
