The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a full-time Registered Nurse to serve as Assistant Nurse Manager under Patient Care Services within the Domiciliary, Mental Health Nursing Service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Major Duties: 24-Hour Unit Management: The incumbent is accountable for the full-time management of the nursing clinical unit, which includes preparing nursing staff schedules, managing leave requests in VATAS, and resolving conflicts between staff members. Staff Development and Training: Responsible for the training and orientation of new nursing staff, conducting annual training for existing staff, and monitoring and updating individual competency folders. Clinical Coordination and Patient Care: Manages the coordination of care for patient transitions, including scheduling admissions, managing discharges, and participating as an active member of patient treatment teams. Accreditation and Quality Readiness: Ensures the unit maintains a state of continuous accreditation readiness for surveys by The Joint Commission (TJC), OIG, and CARF by conducting mock tracers and monitoring environment of care (EOC) compliance.
