<p>The Assistant Nurse Manager will support the Nurse Manager in overseeing non-direct patient care operations of the Patient Care Coordination unit under Medical Specialties service line. The position is integral to assisting with management tasks and overseeing coordination efforts across each medical specialty. This role provides both administrative and operational leadership to ensure efficient, safe and high-quality care delivery.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>DUTIES The Assistant Nurse Manager will support the Nurse Manager in overseeing the non-direct patient care operations of the Patient Care Coordination unit under Medical Specialties service line. The position will be integral to assisting with management tasks and overseeing coordination efforts across each medical specialty. This role provides both administrative and operational leadership to ensure efficient, safe and high-quality care delivery. The Assistant Nurse Manager functions as a clinical expert providing leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff as well as serving as a mentor for less experienced nurses and/or nurses new to the coordinator role.Performs delegated duties, i.e., develops time schedules, serves as a leave granting official, responsible for performance improvement, customer service/patient satisfaction, promotes patient and employee safety, following standards of care and practice, facilitating a positive work environment, and understanding accreditation and regulatory standards. The Assistant Nurse Manager position actively develops and manages collaborative partnerships with physicians and other clinicians. It directs and organizes patient flow in assigned areas. The position serves as acting nurse manager during absences of the Nurse Manager. Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operations of their designated units. They provide coverage for other ANMs as needed. The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training,mentoring, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance. They function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. They enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. The Assistant Nurse Manager functions as a clinical expert providing leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff as well as serving as a mentor for less experienced nurses and/or nurses new to the coordinator role.
