Job Description:
• Schedule: 5x8s 9-5:30
• Call requirements: No Call
• Location: Remote
• Acts as a liaison between administration, patients, families, physicians, and office staff, maintaining open communication.
• Collaborates with the anesthesia department and promote positive relationships with physician office schedulers.
• Communicates clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other departments as needed.
• Participates in personal and professional development programs, including continuing education workshops and in-service training.
• Assesses patients through observation and interviews, confirming medications, allergies, and physical condition.
• Ensures all diagnostic testing is ordered and completed prior to surgery or procedures.
• Provides clear and concise preoperative and pre-procedure instructions to patients, emphasizing critical information.
• Delivers effective and efficient daily patient care in the preadmission testing department using the nursing process.
• Coordinates work to accomplish departmental and hospital goals and objectives efficiently.
• Trains and orients new employees, providing education and support as needed.
• Serves as a clinical resource for peers and colleagues, offering guidance and expertise.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures based on standards and regulatory requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Computer skills [Required]
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, cardiac catheterization, and radiology special procedures [Required]
• Patient assessment skills [Required]
Education:
• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• N/A
Work Experience:
• 1+ years Acute Care nursing experience [Required]
• 1+ years Peri-anesthesia/perioperative experience [Preferred]
• 1+ years Peri-anesthesia/perioperative patient education [Preferred]
Additional Information:
• Membership in AORN &/or ASPAN [Preferred]
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located. Please consult the relevant credential grid for detailed information regarding these requirements
Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
