Utilizes nursing research, evidence based practice and literature in daily practice. Practice requirements include BLS. Recognizes deviations from normal and respond effectively and efficiently in urgent or emergent situations i.e, autonomic dysreflexia (AD). Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures specific to the SCI/D population Prescribes medications and the observation of desired action or adverse events related to administration. Knowledge of disease entities of the patient population to enable him/her to provide patient/family education in an individualized manner to facilitate an understanding of discharge or continuing care needs/plans. Uses equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of delivering care to the designated population as outlined in the unit specific competency record. Preferred Experience: SCI/D Rehabilitation Experience, Acute Care Experience, Electronic Health Record Charting. Work Schedule: 1530-MN, 8 hour tours with alternating weekends and holidays.
