ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>About the Position: This position is located at the Army Health Clinic Presidio, Monterey, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Serves as a Physician (Psychiatry) in a Medical Treatment Facility, responsible for providing examinations, diagnoses, treatment of diseases affecting mental health.</p><p>Serves as a recognized technical authority in the delivery of Psychiatric medical care to a wide demographic and large variety of psychiatric patient presentations, symptoms, conditions, and complexities.</p><p>Provides appropriate referrals to other medical and mental health care providers in and outside of MTF.</p><p>Conducts thorough biopsychosocial evaluations of presenting patients, including but not limited to integration of laboratory, radiological, EKG, psychological testing, and clinical findings.</p><p>Prescribes appropriate pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment.</p><p>Develops treatment and rehabilitation plans and provides appropriate therapeutic treatment services.</p><p>Research activities may involve the development, testing or evaluation of innovative therapies.</p><p>Participates in Quality Assurance (QA) functions, performance improvement programs, risk management programs, and peer review programs.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
