ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>About the Position: This position is located at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego - Branch Medical Clinic. Recruitment, Advanced in Hire and Leave Accrual may be considered This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Works in an outpatient clinic to provide a wide range of medical duties, including Primary Care, non-operative Orthopedic Care, and Sports Medicine.</p><p>Perform emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary.</p><p>Serve as member of the professional medical staff and/ or faculty to provide advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and/ or boards.</p><p>Develop medical policy, guidance, and standard of care determinations within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).</p><p>Attend and or participate in health care conferences as requested.</p><p>Independently formulate full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and/ or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.</p><p>Provide ambulatory care by documenting patient histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies.</p><p>Prescribe medications, perform patient education, demonstrate modalities, and document results of activities in the electronic medical record.</p><p>Oversees evaluation and coordination of musculoskeletal injuries, illnesses, and rehabilitation protocols by collaboration with athletic trainers, orthopedics, supporting sub-specialties, and entry level training service members.</p><p>Refers patients to other specialty clinics for evaluation and/or treatment when the issues or ailments are beyond the scope of this position.</p><p>Serves as adjunct faculty for the Graduate Medical Education Programs at a large MTF, including Primary Care residents, medical students, Physician Assistants (PA), and medical military service member students.</p><p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
