ABOUT THIS ROLE

<p>About the Position: Serve as a Physician (Occupational Medicine), located in Directorate of Clinical Support Occupational Medicine Branch at Naval Health Clinic Charleston in Charleston, SC. Hours are Monday-Friday between the hours of 6:30 AM- 4:00 PM. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required.</p><p>Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide comprehensive work-related care to employees.</p><p>Notify management of exam results and recommends appropriate work restrictions/accommodations.</p><p>Interpret ancillary test results for evidence of possible occupational disease or confounding personal health conditions.</p><p>Diagnoses and appropriately consults for follow-up evaluations for conditions discovered as a result of the occupational medical examinations.</p><p>Evaluates and treats on-the-job illnesses and injuries and stabilizes and transfers those suffering from urgent or potentially life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Assists in self-care transfer activities.</p><p>Conducts periodic worksite visits.</p><p>Develops and oversees medical surveillance and medical qualification programs.</p><p>Serves as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and boards.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
