<p>About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency Atlantic Network, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Weapons Station Yorktown, performing professional work in the field of Occupational Medicine, dealing with occupational injuries and illnesses, and providing healthcare to eligible beneficiaries in the servicing area. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 2 years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform occupational physical exams including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required or requested by authorized entities.</p><p>Diagnose and appropriately consult for follow-up evaluations for conditions discovered as a result of the occupational medical examinations.</p><p>Interpret ancillary test results for evidence of possible occupational disease or confounding personal health conditions.</p><p>Evaluate and treat on-the-job illnesses and injuries, stabilizing and transferring those suffering from urgent or potentially life-threatening illnesses and injuries.</p><p>Serve as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and boards.</p><p>Develop and oversee medical surveillance and medical qualification programs.</p><p>Conduct periodic worksite visits to evaluate and gain familiarity with workplace hazards and adequacy of controls.</p><p>Supervise the work of medical staff in the department, including managing safety or occupational health program elements.</p><p>Develop safety and occupational health standards, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards.</p><p>Inspect or survey workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards.</p><p>Training of workers, supervisors, managers, or other safety and occupational health personnel in safety or occupational health subjects.</p><h3>Education</h3>See qualification section for education requirement.
