<p>About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Serve as the primary care physician for adult patients who have both acute and chronic illnesses and conditions covering internal medicine.</p><p>Manage complicated medical problems such congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, thyroid disorders, diabetes, arthritic conditions, etc.</p><p>Examine patients, take histories, perform physical examinations, order laboratory tests, prescribe treatment and refer, as appropriate, to specialty/subspecialty care.</p><p>Complete required records (both paper and electronic) pertaining to all medical services provided in accordance with specified procedures and regulations.</p><p>Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and quality assurance activities as assigned.</p><p>Provide technical oversight of clinical staff (e.g. nurses, social workers, therapists, and various technicians).</p><p>Supervisory positions will direct, oversee and assign work of military, civilian and contract workforce.</p><p>Supervisory positions will participate on clinical staff boards and committees.</p><p>Supervisory positions will complete performance appraisals for military, civilian, and contractor staff as directed and take disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands as needed.</p><p>Supervisory positions will Interview candidates for subordinate positions and recommend candidates and employees for hiring, promotion, or reassignments.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
