Physician (Family Medicine)

<p>About the Position: Positions are located at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, CA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Performs and records history and physical examinations and records data from clinic visits.</p><p>Evaluates, consults, develops diagnosis, and manages the primary care panel of patients assigned.</p><p>Enters progress notes in computerized medical record and completes workload documentation in a timely manner.</p><p>Provides medical care encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions and all appropriate preventive care for both male and female veterans.</p><p>Orders diagnostic tests, medications, laboratory tests as medically relevant for each patient.</p><p>Provides timely follow-up on results and patient inquiries, including and not limited to completion of view alerts, secure messages and other patient communications.</p><p>Determines medical assessment and develops treatment plans according to accepted protocols.</p><p>Prescribes medications according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and State Law.</p><p>Educates patients concerning medical conditions and recommended treatments.</p><p>Consults other specialties as appropriate.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
