<p>About the Position: This position is located at Camp Lejeune Medical Center, Family Medicine. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Performs medical screening examinations in an inpatient or outpatient setting for patients of all ages.</p><p>Supports medical readiness by performing periodic health assessments, deployment health assessments, separation physicals, commissioning physicals, and retirement physicals.</p><p>Examines patients and performs initial patient work-up and assessment of patients' care and treatment, and determines the need for and orders laboratory tests, X-rays and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.</p><p>Diagnoses disease, illness disorder or injury; institutes treatment of patients; and seeks the advice of appropriate physicians for more serious or uncommon conditions.</p><p>Participates in all required processes including Medical Staff programs, accreditation/inspection preparations, and risk management activities as assigned.</p><p>Position may require incumbent to specialize in surgery, providing preoperative and postoperative care, and may work as first or second assistants during major surgery.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Education Requirements Above
