Physician Assistant (Geriatrics)

<p>Physician Assistant will be a Mid-Level provider for the Community Living Centers (CLC) under the Geriatrics/Long-Term Care (G/LTC) Service Line. The incumbent will provide clinical support to the supervisory physicians of the CLC, duties and responsibilities will be at the direction of the physician Lead. Physician Assistant will function in both a clinical and administrative role, and in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the Martinsburg Veteran Affairs Medical Center.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management. Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services. Provides education to patients and their families. Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Work Schedule: Day Shift with flexibility as 24/7 coverage is needed</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Graduate of a training program which is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of PA (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor organizations. Additionally, candidates must meet one of the following: (1) Master's degree in any discipline; OR (2) Bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a PA. Certification. Must have successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE). NOTE: Current and continuous certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is no longer required for employment in VHA.
