PHYSICIAN (AEROSPACEMEDICINE)

<p>This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Medical Occupations to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Physician (Aero-space Medicine) under the general professional direction of the United States Army Aviation Brigade (TAAB) and Director of Clinical Support at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), Fort Belvoir, VA.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provides routine care for chronic medical problems within scope of practice and scope of care for TAAB.</p><p>Care is generally rendered in the outpatient clinics on a scheduled basis, but, to meet patient needs, they may need to be walked in or added to the physician's schedule.</p><p>Provides care, advice, and referral coordination via telephone and e-mail as appropriate.</p><p>Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to include: blood chemistry, blood counts, liver function tests, urinalysis, sedimentation rates, drug and alcohol tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, and range of motion studies.</p><p>Performs procedures within scope of practice and scope of care for TAAB.</p><p>Implements and monitors the tracking systems for all submitted FDMEs, FDHSs, unit medical readiness, and deploy ability.</p><p>Provides medical supervision to health care delivery personnel assigned to TAAB.</p><p>Manages the medical aspects of the Aviation Safety Program by conducting lectures and classes for aviation personnel, conducting flight line inspections.</p><p>Attends aviation safety councils, pilot, and aircrew member survival and physiological education and training.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
