Physical Therapy Assistant

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Fort Riley, Kansas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilized to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform a wide range of complex PTA duties requiring an advancedpractical knowledge of physical therapy, evidence-based medicine and data collection.</p><p>Plan, coordinate, and administer diverse physical therapy programs for wounded, ill and injured patients.</p><p>Utilize the various modalities of physical therapy, as prescribed, to include diathermy, hydrotherapy, massage, electrotherapy, ultrasound and therapeutic exercise.</p><p>Provide updated status in patient progress reports.</p><p>Design a patient progressive treatment plan.</p><p>Instruct and review all home program precautions and contraindications with patients and family members.</p><p>Track procedure’s effects on patients, long-and short-term effects of different types of therapy, and appropriateness of a specific therapy.</p><p>Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for the patient’s rehabilitation and reintegration needs.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
