Pharmacy Technician

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center under the Inpatient Pharmacy Department. Performing a variety of technical support functions in a pharmacy. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Process medication orders.</p><p>Perform substantial bulk compounding, including complex products.</p><p>Prepare, store, and issue sterile and non-sterile drug preparations following established guidelines.</p><p>Perform technical functions with computer-based systems.</p><p>Assist Pharmacist in the drug utilization, quality assurance, and improvement activities.</p><p>Provide guidance or assists less experienced medical personnel.</p><h3>Education</h3>Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
