<p>The PACT Clinical Supervisory Pharmacist fulfills the duties and responsibilities of supervisor of personnel assigned to the PACT Clinical Programs Section of Pharmacy Service. As a supervisor, this position is responsible for the control of the policies, procedures, operations, and ongoing development of this section.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA Careers - Pharmacy: https://youtube.com/embed/Fn_ickNBEws The incumbent is responsible for planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling a range of pharmaceutical services including: Administrative Plans, directs, and controls the pharmacy services and provides direct supervision to the pharmacists, technicians, students and residents assigned to PACT & HBPC Clinical Programs Section of Pharmacy Service. The incumbent manages the day-to-day operations, will approve or disapprove leave requests, performs timekeeping functions, writes functional and position descriptions and performance standards, evaluate employees, formulate work schedules and recommend personnel actions. Interviews employee candidates, assists in making selections, assigns personnel, and serves as a mentor to help employees develop their full potential. Specifies advancements, within grade increases or disciplinary actions to the Professional Standards Board or the Chief of Pharmacy as appropriate Plans, directs, and controls the comprehensive pharmacy services provided by the Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner and technicians assigned to Community Based Pharmacy Services; manages day-to-day operation and provides direct supervision of the pharmacy staff assigned to PACT Clinical Programs Section of Pharmacy Service; assists the Associate Chief, Clinical Pharmacy Services with other administrative functions or projects as assigned. Assists the Chief and other pharmacy supervisors in establishing and accomplishing the pharmacy's mission and goals. Conducts performance reviews and competency assessments in accordance with Human Resources requirements and specified deadlines. Initiates corrective/improvement measures when necessary. Writes functional and position descriptions and performance standards for the section. Recommends appointments and special advances, within-grade increases or disciplinary action to the Professional Standards Board or Chief of Pharmacy as appropriate. Supervisor will communicate the VHA and Wilmington VAMC Strategic Plans to their employees. Chairs, prepares agenda and minutes when assigned for the PACT Clinical Programs Section of Pharmacy Service meetings. Holds regularly huddles and scheduled staff meetings. Meetings will be designed and conducted in such manner as to foster communication, problem solving, and dissemination of relevant information to improve services. Collects, analyzes and acts upon workload output, productivity and quality assurance data. Uses this information in strategic planning, performance appraisals, performance awards, or disciplinary action as appropriate. Establishes section goals and objectives consistent with department goals and develops the operational plans and policies to achieve them. Assists the Associate Chief, Clinical Pharmacy Services and other pharmacy leadership in establishing and accomplishing the pharmacy's mission and goals. Develops measures, assesses, and documents the competency and training needs of the PACT Clinical Programs Section of Pharmacy Service. Reviews activities within assigned areas for compliance to standards of practice, federal and VA regulations. Reports deficiencies to Chief and Associate of Pharmacy and takes corrective actions. Supervision Collaborates with members of other services to negotiate, decide on and/or coordinate work-related changes affecting other services; advises Chief, Pharmacy Services and other Pharmacy Service Leadership of any impacts on such programs. Assures that qualified pharmacists are available to provide the critical functions of the section. Reviews activities within assigned areas for compliance with standards of practice. Takes corrective actions on deficiencies and reports them to the Associate Chief of Clinical Pharmacy Services.
