<p>About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Virginia under the Directorate for Clinical Support Services, Outpatient Pharmacy. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Dispense, prescribe and/ or administer medicine.</p><p>Screen for drug interactions and reviews pertinent laboratory results, when necessary, as part of the prescription verification process.</p><p>Interface with physicians or other health care providers in the design of a drug treatment plan and monitors drug therapy for patients.</p><p>Prepare complex combinations regimens for clinical protocols including new and investigational agents and biologic response modifiers.</p><p>Provide drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients on investigational drugs being utilized and ensures that up to date information is readily available in the patient care units.</p><p>Compare and contrast therapeutic regimens and use for new and existing products.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
