<p>About the Position: The incumbent performs duties as a Pharmacist at Fort Belvoir Hospital Pharmacy. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provides healthcare to patients, specifically being concerned with the effective and efficient use of pharmaceuticals in treating the various diseases and conditions of human patients.</p><p>Uses an extensive knowledge of drugs and other pharmaceuticals available, their nature, actions, and interactions.</p><p>Provides authoritative instructions to prescribing and dispensing officials.</p><p>Serves on a variety of committees, boards, and other bodies representing the pharmacy.</p><p>Monitors the dispensing of all pharmaceuticals in the Military Treatment Facility and allied facilities.</p><p>Counsels on alternatives that will still satisfy medical needs in a situation.</p><p>Conducts training of students, physicians, pharmacists and other health care providers on the use of drugs and other pharmaceuticals.</p><p>Participates in at least one of the following advanced practice activities, i.e. medication therapy, hematology/oncology, investigation pharmacy, and integrated pharmacy.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
