ABOUT THIS ROLE

<p>This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM). As a Pharmacist, GS-0660-13, you will provide clinical pharmacy expertise and guidance in support of one or more CMS program policy or support teams responsible for interpreting, developing, monitoring, or evaluating applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding CMS-administered programs, including the Medicare Fee-For-Service Program.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide technical expertise as a professional pharmacist to group/division staff as well as CM leadership on the administration of the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation and Prescription Drug Benefit Programs.</p><p>Serve as a clinical lead, performing research and analysis and generating recommendations on the development, implementation, and oversight of the Medicare Negotiation and Prescription Drug Benefit Programs.</p><p>Establish and implement operational processes in support of negotiation or manufacturer agreement processes.</p><p>Conduct pharmacoeconomic analyses and assessments of drugs.</p><p>Inform drug policy analysis with advice on cost and coverage issues; reviews clinical research studies and economic analyses of topics of interest to drug policymakers, using the results of research to inform recommendations and decisions.</p><h3>Education</h3>Medical Requirements: You must be able to distinguish basic colors. Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, you must have the following educational requirements: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. TRANSCRIPTS are required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirement listed above. Please see "Required Documents" section below for what documentation is required at the time of application. You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts at the time of application. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted at the time of application. Official transcripts will be required from all selectees prior to receiving an official offer. License/Registration Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, you must possess the license/registration listed below. Proof of license/registration MUST be submitted at time of application. Failure to submit proof of license/registration at the time of application WILL result in an ineligible rating. Licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Proof of License/Registration is required at the time of application to verify possession of the license/registration listed above.
