<p>The Facility Program Manager (Informatics/EHRM Ticket Master) is responsible for the operation of the pharmacy automated data processing and management information systems across main campus and associated CBOCs. They are responsible for identifying, planning and coordinating pharmacy EHR System and Functionality concerns. Responsible for coordinating, monitoring, developing and evaluating the administrative, operational, clinical and technical needs of the Pharmacy EHR program.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Serve as a subject matter expert on pharmacy processing applications and the ability to place and manage all work orders/tickets associated with the electronic health record. Serve as a unique subject matter expert on joint federal pharmacy systems operations at a local, VISN and national level. Facility Program Manager and must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the following functions: Automated Data Processing (ADP): Responsible for development of staff training for and implementation of all new and upgraded VISTA, CPRS, Federal EHRM and GUI applications. Provides analysis of systems data to pharmacy administrators and maintains data integrity of pharmacy systems via quality assurance analysis. Devises methodologies for converting manual data collection systems to automated systems. Maintains familiarity with all pharmacy operations impacted by applications employed and proposes operational changes to supervisory staff when automation provides the opportunity to gain efficiency. Maintains pharmacy prescription refill systems used by VA beneficiaries (e.g. Audiocare and Internet refill systems). Monitors system functionality, reports, and efficiency. Serves as network administrator for several PC-based pharmacy networks and interfaces which includes ScriptPro, Audiocare, Script Talk, Pyxis, ATP2 or similar medication packager, and other applicable work path systems. Serves as the primary Information Security Coordinator for the Pharmacy Department. Responsible for developing and implementing procedures required preserving the privacy and integrity of all computer data through menu management and access rights limitations to the following systems: VISTA, CPRS, Federal EHRM, ScriptPro, Pyxis, Netalytics, and SharePoint. Coordinates, maintains and analyzes VA pharmacy mailout operation data exchanges with the VA Consolidated Mail-Out Pharmacy to improve efficiency of local pharmacy operations. Serves as a subject matter expert and member of various hospital committees, VA Regional (VISN) committees, National VA work groups, and root cause analysis committees. Internal Controls: Installs, troubleshoots and otherwise maintains Drug Accountability software installed in the local host system. Maintains systems and data integrity via quality assurance analysis of cost reports and product movement reports. Serves as lead Pharmacy systems point of contact for beta-site testing and implementation of new Pharmacy processing system software. Education and Training: Cross-trains an alternate Pharmacy Department Information Security Coordinator to ensure that the IS functions are completed during periods of absence. Trains procurement and supervisory staff in the proper use of Drug Accountability software, automation reports and VISTA/Federal EHRM utilization reports. Trains supervisory staff in the use of VISTA/Federal EHRM/third party software reporting tools for maintaining internal control of their areas. Program Management: Coordinates, monitors, develops and evaluates the activities of the Pharmacy EHR system. Responsible for the planning and development of programs consistent with the goals of the Pharmacy Service. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with medication management standards set forth by Joint Commission, FDA and OIG. Will document and monitor Serious Adverse Events (SAE), reporting through VA-ADERS and any related Patient Safety Reports through JPSR. Coordinate and facilitate completion of Pharmacy Informatics-related projects and tasks amongst applicable staff. Administrative: Assists manages, develops and maintains plans for downtime pharmacy operations for VA pharmacy systems during Federal EHRM or network system outages. Manages all tickets placed for the electronic health record and will track and trace these tickets through to completion. Develops and maintains all ADP-related contingency plans as required by the hospital. Participates in various facility, VISN, and national Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives, including, but not limited to, medication usages and cost effective initiatives.
