<p>The Pharmacist-Facility Program Manager (PMOP) Coordinator works independently under the Associate Chief for Clinical Pharmacy Services and Chief of Pharmacy, or designee, and keeps them apprised of trends/problems associated with their designated areas.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA Careers - Pharmacy: https://youtube.com/embed/Fn_ickNBEws Duties may include but are not limited to: Pharmacist-Facility Program Management: Working in close collaborating with the VISN PMOP Coordinator, Facility Pain POC, Primary Care (PACT) Pain Champion, Academic Detailing pharmacists, the Pain Management Team (PMT) Pain Clinic team members, and other facility stakeholders. Develops processes/procedures to ensure implementation and compliance with national policy related to pain management, opioid safety and risk mitigation strategies, Overdoes Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND), management of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), initiatives in compliance with national policy, clinical practice guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Supporting and tracking full implementation of the Stepped Care Model for pain Management (SCM-PM) including a high functioning PMT/Pain Clinic at the facility, and access to tertiary pain center within the VISN including a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation program. Collaborating to evaluate acute pain care prescribing and processes at the facility and leading improvement opportunities. Supporting Opioid Safety Initiative (OSI) reviews data-based risk reviews for opioid-exposed patients (including Stratification Tools for Opioid Risk Mitigation [STORM] data-based reviews), and others interdisciplinary pain care forums. Facilitating facility responses to formal, sensitive inquiries related to pain and opioid safety related concerns as presented by Patient Advocacy, Executive Leadership, VISN, Congressional, or others. Customer Service Responsible for knowledge and utilization of the concepts of a highly reliable organization. Demonstrates a willingness to help others and treat customers in a professional and respectful manner. Performance must show the ability to adjust to change in workflows and the ability to function as a team member, helping the group effort where possible. Responds to customer inquiries in a helpful and timely fashion. Information Security: Maintain patient confidentiality. Adheres to all medical center and department policies and regulations. Manages information security within area of responsibility to assure that the computer system and confidentiality of sensitive information. is limited only to that which the employee requires to perform their duties. Take action as necessary to report and address violations of the information security. Education and Training: Participates in the training and in servicing of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy residents, pharmacy students, and other medical center personnel as required. Is skilled at using both written and verbal communication techniques in teaching others. Serves as the preceptor for pharmacy students and /or pharmacy residents as applicable. Maintains a current knowledge of therapeutics and disease state management. Provides timely and accurate responses to drug information inquiries from all customers. Effectively instructs patients family members about appropriate use of medications and medical devices. Has a good working knowledge of drugs information resources such as Lexicomp, Clinical Pharmacology, AHFS Drugs Information, Facts & Comparisons, or other relevant pharmaceutical references, both written and electronic. Research: Participation in research activities must be in accordance with FDA guidelines and regulations and VHA policy. Serves as primary investigator and/or co-investigator for pharmacy resident and/or student research projects as necessary.
