<p>About the Position: This position is located at the Air Force Academy in El Paso, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation -A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. -Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. -Student Loan repayment may be authorized. -Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform examination, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.</p><p>Utilize specific examinations and instruments to determine an individual's functional vision and specific visual abilities.</p><p>Provide evaluation and treatment of duty-related eye injuries and illnesses.</p><p>Ensure personnel requiring prescriptive eyewear receive appropriate protective equipment to include ordering appropriate eyewear and adjusting to optimize protection.</p><p>Perform a primary role in the visual readiness and optimization of active-duty personnel for both war and peace mission accomplishment.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
